Around 50 members of Alpha Phi Omega International (Philippines) Service Fraternity and Sorority representing five chapters in the South Cotabato-Sarangani-General Santos (SOCSARGEN) section attended an anti-hazing forum on September 22, 2007, at the APO House in General Santos City. Organized by Bro. Amrauzi B. Macalangcom, APO SOCSARGEN Section Chairperson, the forum discussed the position of APO Philippines against hazing and its new pledge program to implement the provisions of Republic Act 8049, otherwise known as An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities, And Other Organizations… In their talks, APO Brothers Chief Inspector Arpha Macalangcom and Police Officer Basher Alindo of the Philippine National Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 admonished chapter leaders to strictly observe the Anti-Hazing Law and warned about heavy penalties imposed on violators. |
